Port de Pollença is a cozy harbor in northern Mallorca, famous for its seafront promenade with views of the bay, its calm-water beach, and its relaxed atmosphere.
Port de Pollença sits at the northern end of one of Mallorca's most sheltered bays, with the dramatic ridge of Cap de Formentor closing it off to the north. The water stays unusually calm, which is why this is the island's main centre for sailing schools and dinghy hire. The transfer from Palma Airport takes about 50 minutes.
The Passeig Voramar — the "Pine Walk" — is the postcard image of the resort: a path of old pines lining the bay, with whitewashed villas behind. Walk it at sunset for the classic view back across to the Tramuntana. Boat trips leave the harbour daily for Cala Formentor and the lighthouse at the far tip; a 20-minute drive takes you there by road, with stops at the Mirador d'Es Colomer for cliffside views.
The northern coast is one of the longest transfers from Palma, and the public bus involves a change in Palma's Estación Intermodal. A Janer-Bus private transfer goes door-to-door for a fixed price, with child seats included on request and live flight tracking — useful in summer when delays into Palma are common.
